Villa Real, Private Villa with Pool, Ferragudo

On the western part of the Algarve, Villa Real is perched on the cliffs of Ferragudo. It faces west over the bay of Lagos and towards Sagres and the setting sun. The view is of the peaceful waters of the Algarve coast and yachts making their way from the marinas and of fishing boats passing in front of the house.

Across the wide estuary is a distant view along Praia Rocha beach that is well known to the many visitors to the Algarve region of Portugal

Solar Real has been completely refurbished and updated to modern standards, including internet WIFI access. There are 9 bedrooms, all with ensuite bathrooms, sleeping 19 persons spread over three floors of the building.

The house’s original furniture has been restored, and the bedrooms have been refurbished in a more modern style but retain the original beds, which incorporate the family coat of arms.

Outside there are extensive terraces and a swimming pool overlooking the sea. A downstairs bar and toilet are available from the pool which also has a poolside shower.

  • Ground Floor: Main drawing room Overlooking the terrace and with sea view, boasts a beautiful grand piano. Entrance hall and cloakroom. Double doors leading to a private chapel. Formal dining room seating 8 at the main table, and a further 8-10 on two circular tables. Breakfast room which is usually used for children´s meals. The terrace has a retractable sun awning and tables for outside eating, for 16 people. Music room with a CD player and comfortable chairs. Kitchen: recently modernized. 2 double bedrooms with en-suite shower/bath rooms. Sea view and doors leading out to the terraces. 1 Twin bedroom, with en-suite shower/bath room. Sea view and doors leading out to the terraces. 1 Twin bedroom with garden view and doors out to a terrace with river view.
  • Lower Ground Floor: Television room. Bar, Cloakroom. 1 Triple children’s bedroom (narrow beds) ensuite and with sitting area. Doors leading out from the sitting area onto the pool terrace. For parties of 10 persons or less, the ground floors only may be used.
  • First Floor: 1 twin bedroom with en-suite bath/shower rooms. Garden view. 1 double bedroom with en-suite bath/shower rooms. Foldaway sofa bed, only suitable for young children.
  • Garden View: 1 twin bedroom with en-suite bathroom and sitting room and leading to a further 1 twin bedroom. Sea view and doors leading out onto a terrace.
  • Outdoor area: Step outside to the pool area and discover the classically designed rectangular 16x6m infinity pool constructed using the finest Italian Bisazza tiles shimmering in the sun. The pool has a motorized cover and can be heated by a supplement. Rest awhile at the pool bar on the underwater bar stools or unwind in the poolside Jacuzzi. Plenty of sunbeds are available as well as 2 double beds, one with a permanent shade. Extensive wood decking provides more than enough lounging space set in mature gardens with manicured lawns.
  • Other:The utility room with 3 washing machines and 3 tumble dryers, iron and iron board. The villa is fully air conditioned with inverted units (cold and heat). Wireless internet available in all areas. The villa is located at the top of a cliff overlooking the ocean and the boundaries of the property are really on the edge of the cliff, so for security reasons please do not step outside the fenced area. On the edge of the cliff there is a public narrow path so sometimes some intrepid tourists may walk pass.

Booking Conditions:

  1. Booking is reserved upon receipt of a 25% deposit.
  2. Booking is confirmed upon receipt of the balance of 75% up to 8 weeks before date of travel.
  3. 2 persons maximum per bedroom unless otherwise stated.
  4. No pets are allowed.
  5. Should the property become unavailable for reasons beyond our control you will be offered a full refund for the accommodation. PV Holiday rentals is not liable for admin charges or travel costs.
  6. A refundable damage deposit of €300 is required for all properties (unless otherwise stated).
  7. Check in is from 16.00 on arrival day and check out is before 10.00 on departure date.
  8. Maid service is provided once per week (minimum), bath and shower towels are provided in all accommodation. Pool/Beach towels are not provided unless otherwise stated.
  9. Cancellation charges (may vary slightly depending on accommodation booked):
    1. 8 weeks before arrival: 25%
    2. 4 weeks before arrival: 50%
    3. 2 weeks before arrival: 75%
    4. Less than 2 weeks before arrival: 100%
  10. Any complaints must be made immediately at the property in order for us to rectify the problem. This must be followed up in writing within 7 days of departure, any claims after this time will not be considered.
